Food Intolerances App Comentários

Okay

This app is full of good information. Unfortunately, like every other food intolerance source out there, it has conflicting and contradictory data. It also lacks plenty of basic foods and meal items. Disappointed since I went ahead and paid $15 for it. Do not recommend.

Doesn’t include Oxalate foods.

This app does not include oxalate foods. If one has histamine intolerance, they almost always also have oxalate and salicylates stemming from MCAS. This app would be rated higher if it also included them.

This app needs a tutorial

I see lots of lists of foods with no explanation about what the colors mean. For example, why is cottage cheese red, while aged Edam is green? This is completely counterintuitive to me. Cottage cheese is generally considered safe, while aged cheese can be problematic. I cannot see any way to use the app, or any explanation on how to use it. Are we supposed to guess?

disappointing

inconsistent information, don't feel like i can trust the information enough to want to pay to read the rest of the entry. also, no free android version? rude

App has helped me quite a bit

It’s easy to use and very helpful in the way it breaks down potential triggers.

Wonderful, easy app to use

I am so thankful for this app and the hard work the developers have done to make it possible. I was diagnosed with MCAS last year. I have been gluten intolerant for years and now need to restrict histamine in order to continue feeling well. The app is convenient to open and look up foods while shopping. I’ve learned some amazing information about foods and beverages in general. Thank you! Thank you! ♥️

Jaw dropping for 4 Years and counting…

First, I got this App to help me focus on my family’s dreaded dietary Histamine Intolerance then they kept adding filters for other conditions. Omega Fatty Acid ratios for Neurological Health? Yes. Glycemic Index and Load calculations per 3oz serving or 100g? Yes. It keeps going on and on. It’s like having a pocket Nutritionist for when you’re at the Grocery Store. This app is life-changing.

Not user friendly

I have no idea how to even use the app. I paid $15.99 and it doesn’t seem to have anything extra from the basic, free package. Wasted money. There needs to be instructions on how to use the app. Really disappointed

Docked a star for inaccurate oxalates

Overall, AWESOME app! Super user friendly and really helpful for those just starting to navigate food intolerances/sensitivities. My only complaint is inaccurate data on oxalates. See Sally Norton’s Toxic Superfoods book as well as the Data Companion for Toxic Superfoods for more accurate classifications and oxalate levels in foods and supplements.

Great app! Can I see or print a chart of all my problem foods?

This is just what I was looking for and $15 for the pro version is worth every penny. The only things I would love to see in a future release is be able to print or see a chart of all my problem foods and notes. Adding onto that, (and I am sure this would be a big project) if there was a way to mark foods with the specific problems such as Tyramine ( migraines) and histamines (gastro issues) for hard cheeses. Thanks for a great app.

Inaccurate but nice idea

This app had so much potential. It is nicely designed and easy to use. However, the foods listed are very inaccurate. I am very disappointed that I paid for the pro version and the salicylate foods listed are so inaccurate. It is a complete waste of money, not to mention detrimental to someone’s health.

Great app!

Great app for difficult allergy like BOP.

Great little app with room to improve

I have so many contradictory diet guidelines I’m supposed to follow which makes it extremely difficult to eat healthily. This app lets me set most of those guidelines and shows me what I can and what I shouldn’t eat and why. I do wish there were more commercial products in the database rather than just single ingredients & whole foods, and I wish there were options for low fiber, low fat, etc in addition to the restricted diets settings. Overall happy with this app but also looking forward to see its development.

Wonderful App for Food Allergies, Intolerances, Sensitivities

Great app to look up food allergies, intolerances, sensitivities, and also track them in a daily diary where you can check daily nutrient & vitamin intake from food versus daily required. Only wish I could also add my vitamin and supplements in the diary as well so I can see if I’ve met my daily minimum’s, not exceeded maximums or that I am not intolerant of any of them especially when buying them.

Questionable info

Just downloaded the free version. They’re saying that egg whites are histamine free. Everything I have read says that egg whites are fairly high in histamine and our liberator of histamine. I have a membership with the Swiss interest group histamine intolerance. Very thorough in their information. It’s worth 35 bucks. They actually refer this app so I am not sure what’s going on why this app would have contradictory information to the www.Mastzellaktivrung.info Website. This is a big deal. Actually I hope somebody responds to this as well. I found some other discrepancies, but I figured I’d start here.

Very little information provided

After downloading the free app, excited to learn about food intolerances, I found incomplete sentences. Unless you pay extra, the information will show the first 5 words and then 3 dots to describe the food and whether there is a strong interaction or low interaction. If you are ok with the stoplight colors as your answer to whether a food is safe, then you may like this app. I find it frustrating and a bait and switch. They should just charge money for the app initially instead of making people think the app is free.

Great app!

I love this app. It’s really easy to use and has proved very accurate based on my experiences with histamine intolerance (HIT) syndrome. Before discovering this app, I was using the SIGHI food list, which although it is excellent doesn’t include some of the foods (e.g., pecans, kale) I wanted to check. I believe everyone’s experience of histamine intolerance is slightly different. The differences we all experience perhaps explain why this app classifies some foods in the mild-histamine range, whereas other apps classify them more severely. In my case, this app’s classification scale more closely matches my experiences. I also like that I could pay a one-time fee for the PRO version, rather than paying monthly as infinitum.

Not correct on many products

Lists many products as high histamine when they are not. For instance paprika as high when only the hot one is , cumin as high when it’s not high and peas as high where as frozen peas are low.

Spotty info

It’s a great app as far as the layout and details it provides. I’ve only been using it a few days and already I’ve poisoned myself and wasted money in food I can’t eat. I currently and in the weeds as far as SIBO and histamine intolerance goes. I checked figs in the app and got the green light. I ate 4 and had a severe reaction. After looking online I found figs are very high fodmop for their fructose content, one of the highest fruits actually. Which makes sense when I think about it, but I was just following the app. We’ll see how it goes, although now I feel I need to cross reference everything it gives me, which sort of defeats the purpose. Its a bummer to have this happen right at the beginning of using it! Completely broke my confidence and I’m sure it’s most accurate with the info. Just bad luck and really bad autoimmune response as a result.

Low nickel diet simplified

This is the best app I’ve found that gives vital information to manage my nickel allergy and lactose intolerance. Using the food diary feature I can easily figure out how to get the nutrients I need despite the overwhelming number of restricted foods my diet requires.

Perfect for MAOI users who need realistic tyramine numbers...

Most of the time those of us who take MAOIs are given a ridiculously long list of foods to avoid completely, when in reality they may not contain high amounts of tyramine. Now, instead of searching all over PubMed, etc. for real-world measurements, I can find everything here! MAOIs literally saved my life. Information about them on the Internet is often biased and inaccurate to the point of worthlessness. They are fantastic for treatment resistance depression, and for some people also reduce or eliminate any desire for alcohol. If you are considering them, get this app for the tyramine information, if no other reason. Because following a safe MAOI diet is simply not as difficult as so ignorant doctors and profit-hungry pharmaceutical companies claim. Worth every penny. $16.00 bucks is nothing for what you get and the astonishing amount of expert, current research it consolidates.

Double check the sources

Beware of the sources and double check them. App had hazelnuts listed as high salicylate which I found odd. I went to one of the sources listed in the app and the paper made no mention of hazelnuts in the study.

Nice but

Nice lookng app but no choice for migraine trigger foods, smells, or substances.

Saved me

Saved me Thanks 💗

Essential for those with perplexing food issues

Incredible app, very useful. Keeping a food diary is great practice but ultimately frustrating if you can’t pinpoint why you’re getting the results you’re getting. This app helps immeasurably with analysis, with the understanding that everyone is unique and daily accumulations of a substance will often matter more than a single serving of a single food. I like how this app helps with realizing there aren’t “bad” or “good” foods by breaking down what substances in them might be problematic for you if given in high enough quantities to affect you. Given how complex it is to uncover what works for you, and how little help doctors can generally give, this app is a lifesaver.

Well Done

this app has the latest information available on the subjects. Most of the information on the Internet is based from years ago and this is by far the most reliable. Thank you so much.

Politely a Must Have !!!

I have Systemic Nickel Allergy Syndrome and Just started the Fodmap diet - this app is a godsend !!!!

Not helpful

This is not a helpful app. You have to program all the intolerance yourself, as they don't present them correctly in their proper category. You can't choose 2 types of intolerances at the same time - you have to weed things ou, one by one, from your own knowledge base. This is almost worthless.

Great app

Great app but removed important features and then wants money to upgrade to what I original had.

Disappointed

There are no options for glutamates or oxalate levels and I was hoping this would be an option by upgrading.

Life saver

Since Doctors will not help us with this challenging condition all we have left is this App... i do not know what i would do without it !!! It is so incredibly helpful in navigating through the confusion of which foods to eat... plus the elimination diet we finally have hope to have some quality of life. Thank you for making my life easier and more peaceful. Franco

Terribly difficult to understand how to use.

I found this application almost useless because it not the least bit intuitive to use. Huge learning curve. Not worth the bother.

Amazing for those with multiple intolerances

I have multiple food intolerances/allergies. This app allows me to make better choices. The app is a little hard to use and not very pretty. But luckily I didn’t buy the app for that. I don’t like that I paid $15.99 and it didn’t unlock everything in the app, so that’s the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

It’s absolutely GENIUS!

Very CLEVER easy to use app. If you are suffering from multi digestive issues, allergies, restrictions etc, I consider this app essential. With this app I can combine both low fodmaps and low histamine restrictions and get a quick look at the things I can eat considering both of these restrictions. You can customize it to your needs if you have gluten, nuts and other sensitivities. For me it is a life saver. I was going crazy trying to gather the information and compare lists from different apps and websites. I purchased the pro version and was amazed by the helpful informative information. I am so impressed that I had to write a review. It’s very interactive and gives you multiple options with a sliding bar to understand quantities aloud. It’s not static as most apps which gives you just 3 color options. If I could give it 1000 stars, I would. Thank you for developing such an app. I’m very grateful!

Can’t access

I paid for this but it’s locked

Mixed feelings.

Thank you Baliza. I have found this app to be the most useful and beneficial of the ones I have on my phone and have recommended it to many. I would love it if they could add corn as an allergen as many of us suffer with corn allergy and it is hidden everywhere.

Not useful

Monash FODMAP app contains the same but better! Worthless! No new information! No new suggestions! Don’t waste your time or your money!

Please add oxalates to this app 🙏🏻

Having to go to the other oxalate app to get all the information needed is a pain. I am grateful it exists and appreciate the programmer. If it could all be in one, that would make things much easier, please! Thanks in advance.

I’m trusting this for low histamine

Even though there is information online that contradicts what’s on this app (ex:eggs) I trust this app but would purchase immediately if price for pro was more reasonable

All in one for food related health

I've had this app for five minutes and already love it. I took about three minutes to decide to go all in with Pro and Nutrition. It really has it all and in a neat and tidy package. When your on a low histamine, low FODMAP, low calorie diet this is a lifesaver!

Disappointed

I thought this looked like it might be worth downloading, but most areas are locked behind an in app purchase.

Awesome app!!

This is an awesome app! I just started embarking on a low histamine diet as well as no gluten, no dairy, and no yeast. This app allows you to put all those filters in and to which degree you’re sensitive to it as well. Then it rates everything by color to make it easy. And you can click on a food to read the details about how much histamine it has and if it’s a histamine liberator. Some of the foods also have a little history on them health-wise. This is great for MCAS or HIT and food intolerances!

Makes food info accessible!

No longer am I frantically googling while going out to eat! This app is fantastic.

Needs a search function

The app has been essential in figuring out my histamine intolerance. However, you need to add a search function. Who would think to look for squash under “w”?

The best app I’ve found for MCAS and food sensitivities

As someone who has struggled with adverse reactions from histamine, salicylates and FODMAPs, this app have been a godsend for me. I have books and lists, but this app helps me quickly and efficiently search ingredients and foods so I can make better decisions about what I eat and is helping me as I slowly reintroduce foods.

Confusing software

It is hard to figure out what to eat since there are no instructions or keys to explain the color codes . It does not tel you if you should eat a semi histamine food with a non histamine food. I just get more confused every time I try to use the app with no clear directions!

Great app

I just wish they can add oxalates and additives / preservatives on here then it would be perfect!

Do not buy this app!!!

I have fructose malabsorption. Almost every single item on the app is incorrect. For example, garlic and onions (one of the worse things for someone with fructose malabsorption) is listed as completely safe. FALSE!!! This is incredibly dangerous. Do not download this app!

I don’t trust this app

The information isn’t accurate. The information on FODMAPS contradicts the information provided by Monash. Monash leads on FODMAP research. Not sure where they get their data? But I will be requesting a refund.
